Asbury EcoGreen CP

Conventional fluid petroleum coke backfill is an acidic material which is high in heavy metals including vanadium and nickel. Sulfur is an impurity in most carbon based backfills and a high sulfur content decreases the life of the corrosion protection system. CP backfill materials are used to provide electrical continuity between anodes, structures and components, and sub-strata. Backfill carbons may contact meteoric, ground and tidal water and must not add toxic materials to the water table.

Asbury EcoGreen CP:

  • is naturally pH neutral and low in Vanadium and Nickel
  • is low in sulfur
  • will have a reduced corrosion effect on sulfur sensitive elements such as copper, with reduced metallic impurities is less electrochemically active
  • is less likely to be corrosive and is low in heavy metals, which results in a reduced ground water contamination potential

Asbury EcoGreen for Friction

Asbury Carbons engineers have developed a new proprietary carbon product that offers many similar benefits to calcined petroleum coke (CPC), which is a form of non-graphitic carbon that is used in friction formulas. Our EcoGreen for Friction product line has only traces of vanadium and nickel, is free of crystalline silica, and has 5-15 times less sulfur than conventional CPC friction grades.

The Advantages the EcoGreen products are:

  • pH neutral and low in Vanadium and Nickel (Less than 10 ppm each)
  • low in Copper (less than 10 ppm)
  • crystalline silica-free
  • has the same toughness as conventional calcined petroleum coke and will not melt or soften at any temperature
  • environmentally friendly alternative to high metals, high sulfur conventional CPC friction additives
