Applications & INDUSTRIES

Specialty Coating & Mold Release Applications

High-Temperature Coatings

Asbury’s high-temperature coatings include both graphite-based and graphite-free formulations, including boron nitride coatings,  designed for extreme thermal environments.

The VERAGUARD™ product line includes water-based high-temperature coatings engineered to provide thermal stability, chemical inertness, and non-wetting performance at elevated temperatures. VERAGUARD™ MAX is specifically designed for non-ferrous metal casting, including as a high temperature aluminium coating, delivering strong adhesion, clean release, easy application, and reduced metal sticking.

Depending on the application, Asbury coatings can support performance as a high temperature mold release agent, high temperature mold release coating, or high temperature release agent for industrial processes involving molten metal contact, forming, compaction, and high-heat production environments.

Casting

High-temperature coatings provide release, lubrication, and surface protection in metal casting, billet casting, permanent mold, and extrusion operations. Help prevent metal sticking, reduce friction and equipment wear, extend mold life, and improve casting surface quality.

Powder Metallurgy

Coatings are used in powder metallurgy processing to improve part release, reduce die wear, and maintain consistent surface quality during high-pressure compaction and sintering operations.

Refractory

High-temperature coatings protect refractory surfaces from molten metal adhesion, thermal shock, and chemical attack, extending refractory service life and improving operational reliability.

Forging

In forging and die casting operations, coatings provide high-temperature lubrication and release, helping prevent metal adhesion to tooling while improving part quality and die longevity.

Glass Forming

Coatings used in glass forming operations provide release, lubrication, and thermal stability on molds and tooling exposed to extreme temperatures and continuous production cycles.

Electrically Conductive Coatings

Asbury produces conductive coatings formulated with graphite, graphite nanoplatelets, and carbon black to provide reliable electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The XENOKOTE™ product line supports applications including direct metallization of PCBs, anti-static aerospace coatings, EMI shielding systems, and conductive textile technologies.

Automotive & Transportation

Conductive coatings are used in automotive and transportation systems for static dissipation, EMI shielding, and electrical conductivity in components, coatings, and polymer systems.

Battery

Conductive coatings support battery technologies by improving electrical conductivity, enhancing electrode performance, and enabling uniform current distribution in energy storage systems.

Electronics

In electronics manufacturing, conductive coatings enable PCB metallization, EMI shielding, anti-static protection, and conductivity for applications including medical devices, aerospace components, and smart textiles.

Graphite-Based Coatings

Graphite-based coatings remain a core part of the Asbury coatings portfolio due to their ability to deliver dry-film lubrication, mold release, wear reduction, and high-temperature stability.

These coatings perform in environments where surfaces are exposed to high heat, pressure, and chemical exposure. The GRAPHOKOTE™ product line provides durable graphite-based lubrication coatings used in demanding industrial operations where consistent performance and long service life are required.

Abrasives

Graphite-based coatings improve lubricity and wear resistance in abrasive systems, reducing friction and heat generation during grinding, polishing, and finishing processes.

Coatings

Graphite coatings are used as additives and surface treatments to improve lubricity, conductivity, and durability in industrial coatings, paints, and polishing formulations.

Drilling

In drilling applications, graphite-based coatings help reduce friction, improve lubrication, and enhance performance in tools and components exposed to high loads and harsh operating environments.

Agriculture

Graphite coatings are commonly used on agricultural equipment and components to reduce friction, prevent material buildup, and improve equipment performance in demanding field conditions.

Railroad Lubrication

Specialized graphite coatings provide durable lubrication for railroad switch plates and track components, helping reduce friction, wear, and maintenance requirements.
